Welcome to Mill Valley General Store

Many of you have known us since our inception, in 2002, as Mill Valley Garden Center. Then, at our current location, we expanded our offerings to include locally, produced food & changed our name to Mill Valley Garden & Farmer's Market. As we approach 2009, it is time for a more appropriate name - Mill Valley General Store - which more aptly describes our venture. As our customers have embraced the Buy Local concept, requests for an expanded food line have been numerous & we are pleased to announce that our locally produced foods now include a dry goods department.

We still feature all of our gardening items: locally grown plants * mulch * soil * seeds * natural herbicides, pesticides & fertilizers * containers * bird seed & feeders * an assortment of terra cotta & concrete containers * long & short handled tools * hoses * & many additional items.

Fresh, locally grown produce is available year round. One Straw Farm supplies us with certified organic produce & we are proud to be a pick up site for their CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) Program. Baugher's Orchard supplies us with fresh fruit & all natural apple cider. Tuscarora Organic Growers Coop fills in the rest of our needs. Our dairy case is kept well stocked with Milk, Butter, Yogurt, Eggs & Cheeses from Trickling Springs Dairy. Organic & All Natural options are available for milk, eggs & butters. We also have a variety of cheese from South Mountain Creamery.

Our dry goods department is expanding weekly. We currently stock Baugher's apple sauce & apple butter, both available in sugar & sugar free versions. Their canned peaches are a great staple to have on hand. Handmade egg noodles from Nature's Yoke are great for a winter soup. Stock up on McCutcheon's locally produced jams & jellies * mustard * pickles * relish * salad dressing & more.

If the adage that change keeps you young is accurate, we are getting younger by the week. Stop in soon to see what we've been up to.
